EVE: a framework for event detection
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we introduce EVE, a generic framework for event detection where events can also include outliers, model changes and drifts. Various methods for event detection have been proposed for different types of events. However, many of them make the same or very similar prior assumptions but use different notations and formalizations. EVE provides a general framework for event detection, which allows existing algorithms to be represented using a common basis. The framework includes generic types of time slots, streaming progresses, and measures of similarity between those slots. We demonstrate how existing algorithms tit nicely into this framework by instantiating appropriate window combinations, progress mechanisms, and similarity functions.

Detecting Events in Molecular Dynamics Simulations
We describe the application of a recently published general event detection framework, called EVE to the challenging task of molecular event detection, that is, the automatic detection of structural changes of a molecule over time. Different types of molecular events can be of interest which have, in the past, been addressed by specialized methods. The framework used here allows different types...
متن کاملMining with Eve - Process Discovery and Event Structures
This short-paper introduces our new process discovery plug-in Eve. Eve is part of the ProM Tool framework and based on event structures. Eve folds an event log to an event structure, before synthesizing a workflow model. The idea to recast process mining operations based on event structures as a behavioral model was suggested by Marlon Dumas and Luciano Garcı́a-Bañuelos two years ago. This short...
متن کاملDecentralized prognosis of fuzzy discrete-event systems
This paper gives a decentralized approach to the problem of failure prognosis in the framework of fuzzy discrete event systems (FDES). A notion of co-predictability is formalized for decentralized prognosis of FDESs, where several local agents with fuzzy observability rather than crisp observability are used in the prognosis task. An FDES is said to be co-predictable if each faulty event can be...
متن کاملA Hybrid Framework for Building an Efficient Incremental Intrusion Detection System
In this paper, a boosting-based incremental hybrid intrusion detection system is introduced. This system combines incremental misuse detection and incremental anomaly detection. We use boosting ensemble of weak classifiers to implement misuse intrusion detection system. It can identify new classes types of intrusions that do not exist in the training dataset for incremental misuse detection. As...
متن کاملA discrete-event optimization framework for mixed-speed train timetabling problem
Railway scheduling is a complex task of rail operators that involves the generation of a conflict-free train timetable. This paper presents a discrete-event simulation-based optimization approach for solving the train timetabling problem to minimize total weighted unplanned stop time in a hybrid single and double track railway networks. The designed simulation model is used as a platform for ge...
